Autodesk Pixlr App Reviews

Meh

It seems that it is a nice app from the preview and from the reviews from friends and family members of this app but you don’t get a whole lot without paying for these ‘awesome effects’. The effects the come free are okay but nothing special or anything you wouldn’t get from any other app. I wouldn’t say this app is neither better or worse than any other effects app but it certainly doesn’t have feautures or effects that stand out or make it any better than many, many others.

What about layers?

So, I was just wondering if you could add some extra layers and such, that would be awesome. It would be so awesome if you could erase a background of a photo or something like that.

Love all frames and effects

The frames and effects that come with this app are great and many are ones that I have not seen in other photo applications. This is an AWESOME app. Everyone that works with pictures should have it.

Keeps crashing

The app worked great for a week, not it keeps crashing or freezing when I’m in the middle of work. Update: now it doesn’t crash but it won’t recognize my log in, no matter how I try I can’t log in. It just keeps saying my email in invalid, which is impossible since I have had the same email address for years and originally registered with the app with the email addy, and logged in with it repeatedly.

eh...

This app had EVERYTHING going for it. Aside from a few bugs which were mostly fixed, this thing was great. You could even add text to your pictures in any font you had on your computer! I loved it! Then I used the new version. I tried adding text to a picture, but there was no way to change the position of the text by dragging or resizing the text box. I tried it, but couldn’t get it to work. Why did they have to change it? And the color of the text. I was outraged to find that they had changed the color spectrum to some new “cool” looking circle thing. One of the reasons I kept the app the first time I downloaded was because I was fed up with that kind of spectrum in other apps. I was relieved that it was a familiar, practical, simple to use color spectrum. Not any more. They went for the looks of the new one over the functionality of the original. Other than that, it is a decent enough app. Not nescesarily professional, but easy enough to use, and free.

Great App! My Favorite and I have Affinity, Photoshop and Pixlmator

I have Affinity, Photoshop, and Pixlmator but Pixlr is by far my favorite! The others are very difficult to use if you are not a pro. Pixlr is the only one I can create pro effects with and actually understand what I am doing. I am no beginner. I have had Photoshop for years. I just bought Affinity and spent hours toying with it to get any function. But with Pixlr I instantly began creating!! I am not a friend or family member of creators and have no knowledge of them. I’m simply writing this review so you do not waste your money on everything else that is functionless to amateurs.

Terrible Customer Support

Stay away from the in-app upgrades. My app was not updated after I purchased the in-app upgrade. Did not receive a single reply despite numerous emails to support. The app seems to be one of the better ones for quick photo touch-ups and effects, but don’t expect any support for upgrades (or crashes, as other reviewers have noted). Have requested a refund from Apple.
